Recorded 22 December 1994

This recording is of Dirge's first ever live show; and particularly for Jeff and myself it was our first ever performance live. This first show is of a band that would eventually metamorphosis into Cartoon Khaki and a slew of other musical adventures.

I don't get the sense of embarrassment as some people would when it comes to talking about or even wanting people to listen to your first ever live performance ever. I don't hide my previous skills as a musician to put a cloak over myself and say that I have always sounded the way I do as I am now. I never came out of the womb being able to run marathons, so-to-say. It is for myself humbling to relive your roots as a musician knowing where you have been to what you are now as a performer.

It has been 20 years since the performance on this CD. It was a show that was filled largely with high school students. Unfortunately there are no photographs or video of Dirge playing this show. I have included two show posters which list the other bands we played with that night. With this release I've kept all the banter before, after and in-between tracks to keep you in an environment of an adolescent minded show. Also for this release I just moved the first few minutes of talking before the show to the end of the CD; I wanted Dirge to start off right away.
